Safeguarding Policy

The safety of every child and vulnerable student comes first at Noor e Quran Academy. Here is exactly how we protect them online.

Last updated: October 4, 2026

Our Commitment to Safeguarding

Noor e Quran Academy is committed to protecting the welfare of every child and vulnerable adult who learns with us. This policy explains the steps we take to keep students safe during live, one to one online Quran lessons, and how to raise a concern if you ever need to.

How We Vet and Check Our Teachers

Every one of our 20+ teachers is background-checked before they are allowed to teach, with no exceptions. Many also hold an Ijazah, which shows a recognized standard of Quranic qualification. We only work with teachers we are confident placing in front of children and vulnerable students, one to one.

Safeguarding for Female Students

Girls and women are always matched with a qualified female teacher. In line with Islamic guidance on interaction between non-mahram men and women, a female student is never taught by a male teacher at Noor e Quran Academy. This is a fixed rule of how we operate, not a preference offered only on request.

Rules for One to One Online Lessons

Because every lesson is one to one, we set clear rules to keep that setting safe:

  • All lessons are booked and take place through official Academy channels, on Zoom, Skype, or Google Meet.
  • Teachers and students must not swap personal contact details or communicate outside the agreed lesson platform and official Academy channels.
  • Lessons may be checked from time to time by the Academy for quality and safety.
  • Any concern raised by a student, parent, or teacher is looked into promptly under this policy.

The Role of Parents and Guardians

Parents and guardians play an important part in keeping online lessons safe. We ask that a parent or guardian registers and manages the account for any student under 18, and stays nearby during lessons, especially for younger children. Parents are welcome to sit in on any lesson, and to raise questions about a lesson or a teacher at any time.

Safeguarding Records and Privacy

When a safeguarding concern is raised, we keep a confidential record of what was reported and how we handled it, for as long as we need to protect the student and meet our legal obligations. These records are handled under our Privacy Policy and can be seen only by people who need them to manage the concern.

How to Report a Safeguarding Concern

If you have any safeguarding concern, however small it may seem, please contact our Safeguarding Lead right away:

Every concern is treated seriously and confidentially, and we will follow up with you directly once it has been reviewed. If a child is in immediate danger, call 911 first.

Policy Review

We review this policy regularly to make sure it matches how we actually operate. Any updates are shown in the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. For our wider terms of service, see our Terms and Conditions.
