Who We Are
Noor e Quran Academy ("we", "us", "our") provides live, one to one online Quran lessons to families across the United States. This policy applies to everyone who visits our website, books a free trial, or enrolls as a student. It explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information.
If you have questions, contact us at contact@noorequranacademy.us or on WhatsApp at +1 000 000 0000.
Information We Collect
We collect only what we need to book, deliver, and manage your Quran lessons. Depending on how you use our services, this can include:
- Contact details: name, email address, phone or WhatsApp number, and your time zone.
- Student details: the student's age, the course they want (for example Noorani Qaida, Tajweed, or Hifz), preferred language of instruction (English, Urdu, or Arabic), teacher preference, and the days and times that suit you.
- Payment information: billing details handled by our third-party payment processor. We do not store full card numbers on our own servers.
- Lesson records: attendance, progress notes, and teacher feedback used to track a student's learning.
- Messages: anything you send us by email, WhatsApp, or our contact and free trial forms.
- Technical data: basic website information such as browser type and the pages you visit, described in our Cookie Policy.
How We Use Your Information
We use your personal information to:
- Book and run your lessons, and match you with a suitable teacher.
- Take payment and keep the records our business needs.
- Send booking confirmations, lesson reminders, and replies to your questions.
- Keep students safe and follow our Safeguarding Policy.
- Improve our lessons and our website.
- Meet legal, tax, and accounting requirements.
We do not use your information for automated decisions that have a legal or similarly serious effect on you.
Children's Privacy
Many of our students are children who learn with a parent or guardian's support. Our website is meant for parents and guardians. A parent or guardian always registers and manages a child's account, and we collect only the information needed to teach the child safely, such as their age, course level, and lesson progress.
We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from a child under 13 without a parent's or guardian's consent, in line with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). If you believe a child has given us personal information without a parent's permission, contact us and we will delete it. A parent can also ask us at any time to review or delete their child's information.
We never allow direct, unsupervised contact between a teacher and a child outside lesson time on the agreed platform. Our Safeguarding Policy explains this in full.
How Long We Keep Your Information
We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purposes in this policy. In general:
- Active account and lesson records are kept while you are enrolled.
- After you leave, we keep core account and payment records for as long as U.S. tax, accounting, and legal rules require.
- Safeguarding records may be kept longer where needed to protect children, as described in our Safeguarding Policy.
When we no longer need information, we delete it or remove anything that could identify you.
How We Keep Your Information Secure
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information against unauthorized access, loss, or misuse. These include restricted access to student records and secure payment processing by a PCI-compliant provider. Our teachers are background-checked, and each teacher can see only what they need to teach their own students. No method of storing or sending information is completely secure, so we cannot promise absolute security.
Your Privacy Choices
Some states, including California, have privacy laws that may give you rights over your personal information. Whether or not you live in one of those states, you can ask us to:
- Tell you what personal information we hold about you.
- Correct information that is wrong or incomplete.
- Delete your information, unless we must keep certain records for legal or safeguarding reasons.
- Give you a copy of your information in a portable format.
- Stop sending you marketing messages.
We do not sell personal information or share it for targeted advertising, and we will not treat you differently for using your privacy rights. To make a request, email contact@noorequranacademy.us. We may need to confirm your identity first, and we will reply within the time the law requires. You may also ask someone to make a request for you, such as a parent for a child.
